But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
I’ve been discouraged lately. Overwhelmed with working, life and not wanting to write. I can force myself to write, but it doesn’t feel real and it isn’t as good as when I pray and prepare to write.
Feeling frustrated with all of the “tips and tricks” allegedly needed to grow my blog. It is disheartening having no likes, pins, shares and all of the other amazing things everyone in the world seems to have, but me.
So I waited and prayed.
The Prayer
“God, you are bigger than SEOs. You are bigger than keywords. You are bigger than Google and Pinterest. If you want me to blog and the blog be successful, you have got to help me because I don’t knowg wthat to do. Holy Spirit, please be my advocate. Ask God to help me in Chris/t’s name Amen.”
I said that prayer and a variation of that prayer throughout the day. Then that night, I slept…..and had a dream.
The Dream
I was in a room full of people. Some people I knew and others I didn’t. We were at a church and were putting on the “Sound of Music”. I wanted the role of Maria. I had demonstrated jokingly that I could sing and so I sang the parts to the nuns “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?” Everyone clapped and laughed and said I had to play those parts. I said “No, no I want to be Maria.” So at the tryout, I tried for the role of Maria and didn’t get it. I got the nuns parts. I was disappointed, but acted the role I was assigned to the best of my ability and everyone loved it.
That was my dream.
Isaiah 55:8 (NIV)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
When I woke up the dream was on my mind and I believe that it was God answering my prayer. I believe that He is saying to me that I have gifts and he will use those gifts to do what He needs me to do. I might not be number one on the internet, Facebook and Pinterest, but I am using his Word and it will reach those who it needs to reach and help those who are lost.

- #4 Be patient and trust he will answer
Sometimes my dreams aren’t immediate. I believe in this case because I did focus on my prayers and was sincere in my asking, I received an answer.
Word to the Wise….God knows if you are feeding him a line.
Don’t try to lie to Him. It won’t work.
