What is the First Thing You Will Ask God When You Get to Heaven?

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus

Sing his mercy and his grace

In the mansions bright and blessed

He’ll prepare for us a place

Eliza Hewitt

I saw an article recently about different topics to write about and one of the topics is “What would you ask God when you get to heaven?”

I was talking to my Dad about going to Heaven one time.  I’d be so glad to see everyone. “Hey… how are you doing?” Giving out hugs and kisses and then I look to the left…”wait a minute God, what is HE doing here?”  Dad said “You can’t say that.  It isn’t reverent.” Well that’s me and I figure God knows my heart anyway so why lie about it?  I think by the time we get to Heaven all of the Earth stuff won’t matter anymore and maybe the person that bugged me on Earth might be my next door neighbor. Maybe they have fences in Heaven…

So what would I ask?  I think on Earth we are consumed with wanting to know why.  Why is the sky blue?  Why is my child sick?   Why did my husband lose his job?

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”declares the Lord.”

What will I ask?  I think I will ask why, but my question will be different.  Why me? Not in a self-pitying way.  My question would be after all I’ve done, and said Why me? After all the times I’ve gotten mad at you and accused you of not caring, Why me? After all the times I broke the commandments and the ways you’ve told us how to live and behave, Why me? Why do you love me as much as you do?  Why me, God? Why?

I may get an answer, I may not.  I might be too busy redecorating my room or planning the next big party for my family.

Think about the question.  What would you ask?
