What Would I say to My Younger Self

I saw this in an article recently about blog topic ideas.

If you could go back in time what would you say to yourself?  I think it depends on the sci-fi genres you watch and what you believe about timelines.  Guess I watch too much Star Trek.

So, let’s say for the sake of argument that I can’t change anything by going back in time.  I can just make myself aware of certain situations and be better prepared.

  • Adults don’t always know the answers
  • Wear what you want to wear and don’t worry what anyone else thinks
  • The people around you at this moment won’t even be in your life in a few years
  • Question your “true” friends
  • Keep journaling
  • Keep writing your stories and poems.  It doesn’t matter if you get teased
  • Teasing hurts. Hurting people hurt people
  • Some people are just mean. Pray for them
  • Learn to forgive
  • Pray for your enemies
  • When you can be kind, be kind
  • There are no left-handed paint rollers
  • Forgive mistakes
  • If you are in a situation you don’t like, you have the right to leave
  • Don’t give up on your dreams
  • Take the high road
  • Don’t try to be like everyone else
  • You can have any emotion you want to have-cry, laugh, be angry or sad
  • You are good
  • Don’t stress out about things that do not matter
  • Ignore them.

What about you?  What would you say to your younger self? You can’t change anything but just give advice.
