Feeling lonely? Watch Your Focus Loneliness Lesson #6

Romans 8:5-6 (NIV)

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
 
If you think about how lonely you are and compare your loneliness to everyone else, you are focusing on it.  What you are focused on is what your mind tunes in on. 
 
In order to feel better, you’ve got to change your focus.  Don’t dwell on how bad you feel. Don’t dwell on how lonely you are. Find something you enjoy and put your focus on that.

The Bible says we are to meditate on the word day and night.  Keep God and his word as our focus.

Here are several Bible verses about focus:
2 Corinthians 3:18
Romans 12:2
1 Peter 1:13
Proverbs 4:25
Romans 12:10
Hebrews 3:1
Philippians 4:13
 
Look up these verses and find one that resonates with you.  Write it down and keep it nearby.  Repeat it to yourself when you feel alone. Write the verses in a journal and add other Bible verses and other inspirational words and pictures.  That would be a good focus you could begin. Make a list of all of your blessings.  I count my readers as a blessing. I keep my readers in my prayers.  Remember you are not alone.  God is with you and I am thinking of you.
 

Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
